Montreux is an historic city on the shores of Lac Leman (Lake Geneva). It has a population of just under 23,000 and hosts the famous Jazz festival and this year the 13th Montreux Christmas Market
After a mere 72 minutes from Geneva Airport on the beautiful train trip around the lake, you arrive at the scenic and picturesque Montreux.
There are great excursions from Montreux too, with the famous Chateau de Chillon minutes away. Chillon is famous throughout the World, for hundreds of years it has defied the waves of the lake and inspired poets and painters.
The Covered Market dates back to 1891 and is well worth a visit too
The Marmotte paradise of Rochers-de-Naye is a short cog train ride away and this is where the Santa Claus house is during the Christmas Market
