Gryon ~ Stunning skiing, scenery and teeming with wildlife ...
This region has a tremendous variety of skiing, ranging from the main ski start at Bretayes, to the magnificent glacier skiing at Les Diablerets and something for everyone in-between!
There are 220kms of pistes on your ski pass and excellent ski schools to try. Runs to the resort allow you to ski to within a few metres of our Barboleuse apartments and there are a number of snow parks and half pipes for snowboarders.
The piste map can be viewed by clicking HERE
This resort has a very nice feel to it and the village is charming. Proud holders of the Swiss 'Family Friendly' award, families are made very welcome here. The pistes are kept in perfect condition and helpful staff are everywhere.
This resort is not just for families however! Lively events in Villars, including Snow Bombing, live bands and activities mean that Gryon is for everyone - they genuinely care about all their guests
Skiing:
Novice skiers:
Gryon has superb novice slopes and the ski school has an exellent reputation. There are 25 blue runs to start you on, and 35 red runs when you are ready for them. The nursery slopes are at Bretayes or in the village, right by your apartment. Bretayes is reached from virtually outside your apartment by the BVB train ski lift to 1800m for beautiful slopes with breath-taking scenery - and great bars and restaurants!
Intermediate skiers:
There is more skiing in the full ski pass region (included) than in the entire ski regions of most resorts in the world. Brilliant red runs and jumps make this a must for intermediates. Day long ski tours are organised and allow you to explore the area and improve your techniques dramatically
Advanced skiers:
Whilst this is a predominantly beginner and intermediate ski area, there is some beautiful and challenging skiing awaiting you in this SUPER-GSTAAD region. Our ski tours will show you the best and hidden areas - you will love it!
Night Life:
Aprés-ski ranges from quiet informal cafes to lively bars with music and rock bands. There are bars for every taste, and night clubs with dancing until dawn in Villars, if you have the energy! Night clubs and the main bars offer a number of theme nights as well.
Drinks prices are very good value for a top ski resort (from only CHF5.50 - approx £3.30 - for a pint) and the mountain restaurants in Gryon are reasonably priced and with excellent food. Restaurants vary from traditional pizzas from about £6, to American, Mexican, Chinese - in fact cuisine from most countries in the world - and of course the Swiss specialities. All food is of a very high quality.
